Large flashlight threads

Hello,

I want to create some CNC machined flashlight parts and am looking for advice on how to thread them. I do not own a CNC mill turn so I have to make drawings myself. I have only been exposed to metric threads like M3~M14. Nothing large like those 30~60mm diameter flashlight threads.

For example. I have a ~50mm tube “HEAD attach to BATTERY” or “HEAD attach to LENS CAP” and want to specify my thread, what is the best format or style I should be looking at?

Thank you!

maybe water pipe die set would be big enough ?

1.5mm pitch is an electrical conduit pitch and the outside diameter is the size of the thread. So a 50mm outside diameter would be
M50 x 1.5mm pitch

Talk to your machinist and get his opinion to help work it out. It might be that he has tooling for different thread profiles.

Here is 1.5mm trapezoid threads on a Fenix light that is less than 49mm diameter

Here is 0.8mm triangular threads on an SRK bezel over 55mm diameter
