Hi everybody,
I’m looking at upgrading my old tape measures to the laser type.
This is only for home use and I don’t want to spend a fortune on some professional model that I would only use occasionally.
Has anybody bought a good budget measure that works well, from sites like eBay, Banggood etc?
I’m in Australia, so buying from USA or Europe can almost double the price with postage costs.
I have bought all my flashlights, batteries etc from Banggood because of free postage.
eBay can also have low postage costs especially from China.

I dont have any experience with them but if I was looking to buy one and couldn’t find one locally I would probably get this one: https://www.banggood.com/UNI-T-UT392B-100M-Laser-Range-Finder-Distance-Meter-p-1105248.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN.

Bosch power tools should be available in Australia at most home improvement stores. The 60 to 120ft models range from $40 to $80 here in the US. Wouldn’t expect them to be much different in Aus.
There are some Bosch models in the 2 to $300 range, but they calculate all kinds of angles and other measurements. But if all you need is a basic unit, they aren’t that expensive

Thanks all you guys for your advice.
RobertB - yes, the Bosch tools are widely available in Australia, and if I was to buy from a walk-in store, that is what I would get.
thijsco19 and XXX-Man, both your suggestions look like good ones to buy as well.
I will have a look at all of these and make a decision soon.

I have the same one. Great display, and seems accurate enough. It has features I’ll never use.

That’s the same one from my link.
Gearbest is cheaper now, so buy there
When I was buying banggood was under $20.
Just got the same one yesterday for a friend, tested it against a tape measure, 4.92m exactly on both across a room. Cost was $16 through Bilakos.

Got it from Bilakos too. Couldn't resist that price.
I have bought from UK the following meter, which I think it is very good.
65m 213ft Digital Laser Distance Meter Test Range Finder Measure CEM LDM-65,but I see that it is available from Singapore as well.

I use this one because I needed very long range.
There are cheaper models with less range and features.

Thanks a lot guys. As some of you already own and recommend this one:

I have just ordered it from Gearbest - it was US$20.24
That coupon code for $10 off only appears to work if you spend $50 or more.
Some of you mentioned Bilakos…
Is that another online store?

I have that one as well. The only time I found its readings somewhat innacurate is when measuring fairly short distances, like under 12 inches. But for such short distances you can just use a ruler.
bilakos is a BLF member who often provides discount codes for various merchandise. Here is his thread: ☢ [Bilakos10 Premium Deals] ● Astrolux FT03 SST-40 ● Astrolux A01 UV ● Seeknite X6S ● JCD 8898 Hot Air Station ● SQ-D60

Pete7874 - thanks for that info - as you said, for short measurements a ruler or tape would be fine.
I will also keep a look out for Bilakos’ codes and deals in future.
