LD-25 Driver from FastTech issues.

A few months back I bought a LD-25 driver from http://intl-outdoor.com and built up a nice little XM-L U3 drop in with it, I loved the stable current and output on low/med modes and 2.6-2.8A on high was plenty for what I was trying to do. So I decided to build up a few more drop-in’s with that driver. FastTech had them cheaper so I bought three more from them, however, upon building each on into a drop-in there seems to be some kind of defect with them. Low and med modes work fine, and on high things start out fine, but after about 20s the driver and whole pill start to heat up, way beyond what would be expected and current drops rapidly all the way down to 1.8A, tried each of the drivers on various LED’s, stars and pills and they all have the same effect. My original LD-25 from http://intl-outdoor.com does not do this at all, it’s rock solid and comparatively cool on high. Tonight I received three more LD-25’s from FastTech and they as well have the overheating issue, I had ordered one more from http://intl-outdoor.com but it hasn’t arrived yet to test, and now it appears http://intl-outdoor.com isn’t selling them any more.

Any idea’s on what would cause this? Is there another source for LD-25’s that work?

Though I have not used any of them, so can't say if they're different from the version FT has. Probably also available from other places with a decent driver selection... Lightmalls maybe?
