Leaving Batteries in Torches ...

Yep, i was pretty amazed at how long they lasted in the high drain Camera, even using the Flash alot. Even though they are only 1.2 volt as opposed to Alkaline 1.5. Very good Value, and Safe.

I have a Circuit Tester but very little knowledge on how to use it, that is why so many questions, as i did not think this Hobby through very well before hand. I only started collecting Torches just before Christmas as my Partner passed away and i desperately needed a distraction to try and stay sane. So i now, in a short period of time have a Good Collection of Torches and Batteries, an Empty Wallet, and realise now that i need to ask the questions that i should have asked before i started this Quest for Enlightenment. But thanks for answering that particular question as that was one in particular that i wanted an answer for. Cheers and Thanks. Chris

Me too. I keep my li-ions fully charged.

If I may be so bold as to using a quote as a basis for my .02 -

Ex-act-ly. Same here; 90% of my Li-Ions have been “harvested” from seemingly dead laptop battery packs. The cells got a second chance, a nice retirement if you’d like to call it that, with occasional use; resting peacefully in their boxes until I decide it’s time for an 18650-powered torch, again. They still deliver power for one hour or more of 1.5-ish-amps-driven XM-L light, which is usually six times as much runtime as I need per night.

Well, that’s where I’d like to differ from. I only keep a couple of my torches loaded and ready at all times; all others of the collection have a tiny bag of silica gel stuffed inside the battery tubes, instead. Just my personal choice, I see little use of keeping 50+ lights all loaded and ready.

Current count of ready-steady lights:

minim@g with 2x energizer lithium primaries in the boot/ trunk
SF L2M with 1x Panasonic CR123A lithium primary in the glove compartment
minim@g LED pro+ with 2x Eneloops at work
Nitecore EZ-AA with 1x Eneloop as EDC
SF L2P w/ M3 head with LG-18650 on my nightstand
