A cheap light of a friends has malfunctioned….the led is so barely lit its almost imperceptible…No idea what could be wrong…
Thoughts?
Need more information
Post pics, have you opened it up or checked voltage on the batteries?
Havent opened it. Will try to get pics. The batteries aren’t to blame, tried several.
He told me at one point it lit up bright initially but wouldn’t stay on….Then he realized it was in fact on but EXTREMELY low lumen.

Thing is, they know I’m a flashlight head, and they love my stuff at work, but they went on amazon and bought these ridiculously cheap zoomies.
Like $15 for the whole shebang, light, charger, batts.
The UF batteries literally stopped working in a couple days….and now the light(s) (One was already repaired due to loose wire)
Yeah, we need more info
If it’s a zoomie, does the emitter look like it was run hot and cooked
Has the pill come unscrewed, turn the zoomie head righty tighty a few times and see if it improves things
Have you put the battery on a multimeter to see what voltage it’s pushing?
Does the battery feel loose or rattly inside the flashlight
To me, the LED doesnt look cooked….I’ve taken it apart, screwed everything back, no change. at first I tried a couple 18650 with some lame adapter (kinda loose), and then I tried a 26650 I had…
Nothing….It is labeled ‘Ultrafire hwa/wys’
Hope this link works.
LED on minimum
ok, check the tail cap spring
I’m at a loss
Would it be the same…I pressed the battery directly to the pill spring and a wire from - to the pill ground…Same exact result
I think the emitter is cooked.
Touch the pos. and neg. leads from a battery to the solder pads on the LED MCPCB.
If you get light, well look elsewhere. If you don’t, the LED is dead.
