Hi everyone,

Would be great if it would run with rechargeable batteries.

Just go to gearbest or banggood and search for “dog collar”. There is many to choose from.
Good luck!
Yeah, but most of them are not so bright.
A friend gave me one of these to hang on my dog’s collar.

IMO, it is quite bright. I run it off a single 2032 3V battery instead of the included 2 x 2016 3V batteries to tone it down.
I’m interested in this too. I’d be interested in a nylon one and a leather one. I didn’t see any good ones when I searched.
Can really recommend any one in particular, what I would say though is to avoid the type that have the leds running right around the collar, they look good and are bright but they don’t last more than a few weeks - one lasted less than a week- before the soldered joints break as the collar flexes and they stop working.
Go for something more like the type that gypoflex5000 or freeme posted
I ran across these awhile back, don’t have a clue how bright they are though.
bicycle tail lights zipped tied on top of my dog’s harness. do not want to hang on collar below neck cos the blinking lights are a distraction to the dog’s vision.
GoDoggie-GLOW - USB Rechargeable LED Dog Safety Collar - Improved Dog Visibility & Safety - 7 Colors & 5 Sizes - Super-Bright LED’s Glow & Flash - Connects to Devices to Recharge - No Batteries…
can you tell me ,what's that,I don't really know how to use it?BUT I am very interested in it.
I’v tried countless LED dog collars, nothing comes close to the Leuchtie, it’s kind off crude engeneering but it is so much more visible than anything else, totaly waterproof and rock solid, have a huge runtime for the brightness and works extremelly well with AAA eneloops, there is an integrated accelerometer/level that turns the collar off automatically when standing still and flat level, there is no protruding or recessed buton than can be desactivated accidentally in brushes by the dog.
I have no trouble locating my dog 300+ meters away even in winter when his fur totaly covers the collar, completlyremoved the angst from my night walks.
Try one and you’ll want nothing else, there is no competition, that’s the only one i came across that doesn’t feel like a useless toy, best money i ever spent light related.
I sound ridiculy over-enthusiastic but am completly honest and have no link with them whatsoever.
Edit: my experience is with the “premium” model
Tried to generate interest in a DIY contest for this a few years ago but it fell flat. It’s on my list along with an illuminated umbrella.
Not THAT bright and visible only from one side, you want your dog to be visible from as many angles as possible when it runs into the dark.
I use this one in red and hang it from his collar, one side is brighter than the other so I faced the bright side forward. It uses 2 CR2016 batteries which aren’t expensive, they fit in a small cage. If you squeeze the cage together a little when the batteries aren’t inserted so when you do put them in it will hold them more securely which I did after the supplied batteries ran out.
Resurrecting this OLD post as my wife (after getting her NEW SC31 Pro tonight wants an LED collar for our dog.
Given today’s technology, and some tried and true waterproof collars out there the last few years… here’s my question:
Does anyone here know of an LED collar that:
1) Goes on in a second- maybe with a neodymium clasp that just clicks together in place around the dog’s neck? Idea here is reach for it hanging by the back door, call Queso (our dog) over and in a few seconds reach down and ADD it to her neck? The regular collar acts as the restraint still, this is just a fast easy ring of light (second collar) to go around her neck for her to take a night walk.
2) LED rechargeable- but with a real battery like an 18650 or maybe 18350 (or even 14500). Something you need to charge once every few weeks given a 15 minute dog daily walk “happens” 4-5 days a week.
3) Output ALL around where she (Queso) can’t turn at any angle and be lost (as long as she’s in eye sight obviously- don’t need to see her glow from behind the barn)
4) Decent output, but not too bright too. I have seen some pictures on Amazon, etc. looking around that show what looks like a continuous band of LEDs (almost touching- or in a continuous element of some sort maybe?) More “glow stick” looking that discrete LEDs in a band. Not needed, but looks cool if it (really) exists.
5) SUPER durable, waterproof and well… like our BETTER lights here at BLF!!! Don’t want to buy it again in 6 months after this one wears out. Would rather spend the bucks and “buy once, cry once”.
With that ALL said, I’m not looking for some milspec training thing for $100, but something someone might have been using a while that has stood the test of (some) time and fits the “BLF market” (read: cheap enough BUT well engineered and made).
And an idea for any manufacturers lurking here: Why not make the LEASH the power source (and light it up too while you’re at it). Where neodymium magnets connect the voltage to a SINGLE, durable LED collar that stays on the dog 24/7? Imagine grabbing a “charged” leash, calling the dog over, putting the solid restraining clasp on AND quickly clicking a neo-connector (right next) to the leash connector (like my MacBook power cord connects)? This way the dog always wears the collar, BUT the leash turns it ON (and the leash should illuminate too) when you connect it. Daytime walks? -use a standard leash and all is good; no wasted power, no secondary (power) connection needed to be made. But the sun goes down… well then grab the “charged” leash and put it (and the neo power connector on in about 3 seconds) and “go” (as you know ALL dogs know THAT word!
Seems like LEDs are everywhere these days and so why not get our dogs “lit-up” while we’re lighting everything else around us UP!
Thanks for any ideas BLF’ers!!!
Try this …

rechargeable built-in battery & run time about 3 hrs on full. Very cheap so have a couple on charge ready to use.
Piston, a friend’s dog, has a led necklace very similar to this one:
You can see the dog from very far and also illuminates the dogs path a little.
If your dog has white as his predominate color , glow in the dark spray paint works fairly well . Charge it with a UV flashlight just before the walk.
Use proper safety glasses on both you and the dog when operating a UV light , safety first !
