LED for Teeth Whitening

Anyone heard of these LED lights for dentist use? (not spotlights in surgical theatre)

“Embarrassing stained teeth get a shiny and polishing makeover with LED Teeth Whitening treatment. Using LED technology, a non-peroxide gel is spread on teeth before a high intensity light is shone onto teeth. Staining agents from coffee and even heavy smoking are broken down and teeth appear shades lighter than before. The quick procedure is non-invasive and takes no healing time. The treatment is also suitable for those with sensitive teeth as it does not affect teeth enamel, protecting root nerves under teeth.”

Never heard of it. I could use it though.

There’s “BlanX white shock toothpaste with LED light”, that’s the only one i can think of that the public can buy, the dentist one is an industrial version i think.

Can’t work out if this is spam?

It looked like spam to me. ;)

i recently discovered something called novamin that is supposed to rebuild enamel which would solve the sensitive tooth problem if it works as advertised, but i assume it would have no effect on whitening

i remember seeing a blue led for curing of the stuff used to fill cavities

I thought they just used uv lights.

Nope. I haven’t heard any LED teeth whitening. :zipper_mouth_face:

Here they used to have infomercials similar to this.

There was this clear mouth guard thing you would fill with gel and bite down on it and there was some sort of blue light in it that was either activated by a switch or by the pressure. It was a long time ago so I can’t remember 100%.

I have heard about the laser bleaching light. It costs around $75 and you have to purchase it along with other kits that its approximately $35. According to the reviews, it whitens up to 6 shades in 1 hour.

Ok.

No i haven’t heard anything about LED for Teeth Whitening…

Isn’t it uv lighting to help speed up the effects of hydrogen peroxide on teeth. uv on it’s own does nothing…. My friends a dentist and yes I have lovely teeth lol
