Enelooper was kind enough to send me one of his car headlights to salvage the MT-G2 emitters from.
After removing the emitters I was able to convert the remaining heat sink into a nifty little fan cooled LED test stand.
I already have a LED test stand and would like this to go to somebody else free of charge.
It would cost to much to ship outside of US so CONUS only, sorry. GAW ends tomorrow Thurs 14th 8:PM Pacific Daylight Savings Time.
Drawing will be done on Random.org.
I found a 12 V power supply for the fan at Goodwill and also stoned the top so that LEDs will sit flat and transfer heat more efficiently through thermal grease.
Good Luck
Edit. Does not come with LED.
Make sure your post says that you want in the drawing.
It pulls air from the bottom and blows it against the base of the heat sink. The fan mounting screws hold it up just enough so that air can get in underneath the fan. So there’s a good exchange of air.
I prefer testing LEDs dangling in mid air and watch them fry. Well… I guess it would be nice to have a true test setup:) I’m in. Thanks for the chance!
It just dawned on me what holes you were talking about. The wires to the LEDs traveled through them. The holes could still be used to route wires to the LED or could be left open to allow cooling air to flow through. It’s a moot point with larger boards because they will block the holes.
I’m not in (I already have the other bulb from Enelooper ) but I just wanted to check in and say thanks for doing this. I think it’s very generous of you. Hopefully, someone will find this very useful.
