I reviewed that one. It’s awesome, but too big for EDC
Fit for jacket pocket or belt pouch carry. No mention here of EDC pocket carry. The P17 works perfectly for me with an easily adaptable UI. Its a tool, a very bright tool with plenty of throw…
How about default to maximum brightness when turned on?
Agree with this
Make it as an option that can be selected/set by the operator/user
It should be from the large forward switch. Half press or full press from on/off, or in any mode. If you’re thinking of something like Fenix’s ACE with selectable UI profiles, that’s an idea, but I’m reviewing one and it’s complicated and peobably patented by now.
UI opinion:
- no Anduril.
- three modes Hi/Lo/off.
- always starts Hi. no option.
body:
- optional ASCOB.
- mechanical tail push button.
- smooth bezel. no ridges.
Personally, I think Sirstinky and turkeydance have the best ideas for the UI so far. A “tactical” light should be simple, intuitive and reliable.
It should default to high with the option of a low mode. There is no need for other modes, multiple buttons or a 30 second turbo. It doesn’t need tacticool features like a strike bezel either.
If it isn’t black, then how will it be tactical?!
Maaaaaan tactical this tactical that…i know it’s a fictional work, but there was this man who once killed three men with a f***in pencil. A rolled up magazine can be tactical, a chalkboard eraser can be tactical, a frying pan can be tactical…as can a glossy white sprinter van with a “Lee’s Cleaning Service” magnetic sign on the side.
Naw, it’s gotta be a black Sprinter to be tacticool.
Matte finish, of course.
***I pity they guy who uses full black “tactical” gear in a snowy environment, or in a scorching hot desert environment.
I vote for no Anduril.
Tac mode:
A buttom: turbo
B buttom: strobe when A is off
The strobe buttom will cycle through low, medium ,high and turbo when A buttom full pressed. Hold while A on for moon.
Daily mode:
A buttom: low
B buttom: moonlight when A is off and cycle low, medium, high and turbo when A is on.
