It’s only 1W/50lm claimed, has a side single-mode switch and runs on a triple-AAA insert, but if you remove the tailcap spring and carefully insert an 18650 (not protected) in there it will accept that and work fine. You can’t fully screw the cap home, but that’s no biggie. I saw some short C8 body extensions on one of the sites, but not owning one, I don’t know if they’re the same thread or not. To allow proper 18650 fitting, the body would need an approx 1” extension to allow the tailcap spring to be used properly.
Just throwing a beam at the wall, it’s about the same as the alkaline triple-AAAs.
The 50lumens claimed is conservative (or perhaps realistic) which makes a change from the usual nonsense claims.
It’s not going to set the vegetation on fire, but it’s a nice wee torch and well made. I might snag another one next week, if there are any left.
I fancy swapping out the driver/LED for something a little bit more punchy.
Keep an eye open - when stuff appears in Lidl Ireland first, it’s usually in the UK a fortnight later.
No guarantee of that, though; sometimes things just disappear.
