Would this meter (above) work for basic output measurements and comparisons, or would I need the LX1330B?

At the end it depends on what you expect:

- you want to “compare” certain lights on similar levels? Then it might be ok

- you want to “measure”? Then all of the described models are just crap

After studying all the different models, the possibilities and limits, you will get a different view on all the “measurements” that some people take as “defined”…

But as I said: if you want to compare, it will be good enough.

Yes just to compare certain lights on similar levels, mostly at maximum.

Although wouldn’t I be able to measure (at least ball park) by using an ANSI rated light from a reputable company as a reference point?

Also what model(s) do you recommend for taking more accurate measurements?

Someone on TLF did a comparison of multiple cheap luxmeters (not including this one) but the LX1330B was the most accurate when compared to a professional $1000 luxmeter.

My LX1330B has been working great the past few years.
I’m considering also buying a uni-t one to have a second point of reference, also it will match all my other uni-t measuring tools

I never saw that TLF test, but the test results of the LX1330B look almost too good, my variety of budget luxmeters are way more off than this one! It made me order one (at DX) to check that out (on more varied led sources than the TLF test).

Thanks, I’ve seen your luxmeter reviews and wondered why there was no 1330B when it’s one of the most popular budget ones.
Looking forward to a second set of data for comparison
