I’m buying a ultrafire c8 XM-l2 from lights mall. The only downside to the light to me is I want mode memory. We’ll they offered to install mode memory for me. My question is can I trust there work or do you guys think they will half ass it and sacrifice the power of the light to add a memory. I can solder ok but I’m no expert. Any feedback would be helpful.
High and welcome Oracle510. I think the only way to find out is to trust them and report whether they are trustworthy in this situation or not as it is all speculation at the moment. There are a lot of other C8 lights out there that do have mode memory though. Do you have a link for the light in question?
This is the light. Buy UltraFire C8 Cree XM-L2 5-Mode LED Flashlight Torch(1x18650) - led cree xm-l2 C8 online light malls said it had no mode memory. I want this light for an everyday light but also for tactical use so I want the strobe function. Really all I want is high low and strove but with memory and bright. I guess I’ll have to take one for the team and try them out unless I get more feedback. Thanks for the warm welcome also.
Something like this may be more suitable. It has two sets of modes and I'm sure you will find it has mode memory. The Convoy range of lights get a good rap here though personally I dont own one. Make sure you get, if you dont already own one, a decent Panasonic or Sanyo battery to go with it.
Thanks for the advice. I really like brightness and color temperature of the xm-l2 led. And I also like the throw better of the smooth reflector. And I already have some Panasonic 2900mah imr batteries. I recently bought one from an eBay seller that turned out to be fake even tho they assured me it was real. So now I’m dealing with some Chinese company that doesn’t speak English and trying to get a refund for selling me a counterfeit product. I don’t want to have to get ebay involved but I might have too.
All Ultrafire lights are fake, there is no real Ultrafire.
