Liitokala batteries could be also sold by reputable providers, we just don’t like to be mislead by fake specs and brand. I mean it’s not like those liitokala batteries are completely useless (or comparable to some ultrafires), they just aren’t high drain, etc… or stuff by known brands.
Liitokala chargers are just fine and so could be batteries for most flashlights, people just don’t want to be fooled + fake specs can be potentially dangerous.

This is my test of the 30Q’s purchased there using the West Mountain Radio CBA IV. Same tester as Mooch. EDIT: Same as Mooch but not tuned to be quite as accurate.

My 10A test has voltage drop near the start as contacts needed cleaning on my battery clamp

This same cell measured 2830mAh at 500mA discharge using the LiitoKala Lii-500. Learnt that the Lii-500 isn’t accurate at all, just a rough estimate.

I’m professionally testing everything from them and everything tests genuine incl IR and physical appearance. Have tested NCR18650B, NCR18650GA, 30Q, Keeppower 26650. I import them to sell online in New Zealand and haven’t noticed a fake with over 700 cells. They do state that they’re the originals and also show their discharge tests and IR when I inquire.

Mooch's West Mountain Radio CBA IV has a lot of optimizations to increase its discharge/power handling and absolutely minimize or compensate its voltage drop current rate dependence. Yours has this problem. By seeing the distance between your 5A and 10A ratio curves I infer nearly 40mΩ of cell plus lead paths' resistance, while the actual cold DC IR of 30Q cells is less than 25mΩ. Inaccurate, thus.

Yeah, Mooch did inform me of that before purchasing it but with that in mind it’s still easy to spot a genuine from a fake. My DMM is reading 0.04v higher than the CBA at 10A so it’s not too bad.

I’ve yet to ask Mooch how to modify the CBA for better accuracy. He just said up to 5A is pretty accurate but higher results in more voltage drop.

I’m not really worried as it’s only to verify to customers that I sell genuine cells. I don’t need 100% accuracy

I couldn’t see the voltage because of the vapor. The meter went down to 180W every time I pressed and held there.
This is all holding the buttom for 10 seconds. The max allowed.

Conclusions:
a) The fake cells are worth every penny of the 2 dollars I spent.
b) They will do great @ 60W with a .4 ohms. The intended use.
c) Don’t pay attention to whatever anybody says. As usual.

Why do you keep talking about “voltage draw”? The only voltage coming from the batteries is whatever charge level they are at.

Coil resistance does not change amperage drawn from the cells at all in a regulated mod. Only whatever wattage youre set to will.

How many legs do the positive terminal of your fake 30Qs have? If 4, then you are just supporting fraud, and you are happy to support them because of an economic benefit.

Especially since you seem to be ignorant regarding electronics knowledge, and how Ohm’s law works. You also don’t seem to be receptive to learning about this stuff.

We do not condone your type of behavior, and supporting fraudulent products from a business that could be endangering the lives of others. You’re just showing post-purchase rationalization now, and are ignoring the concerns people have for you and the people that are buying these products, and are starting being rude by completely ignoring others and not paying attention to whatever anybody says.

They were selling fakes that clearly had pink heatshrink on them with printing just like Samsungs that said Samsung Q 30 on them . They then stick a liiito kala label over the word Samsung to hide the word samsung .. because it was probably cheaper than re-wrapping a bazzilion fake cells that all had 4 prong top posts . Then they re-wrote the description to say “for Samsung “ and still use the 30Q to describe them .. same withe the fake lg h2g’s and many orhers ..Blatant / obvious stupid fraudulent lying on their part . Only made worse by ali- express not acknowledging this as a problem and doing nothing for the people being screwed over by these vendors .

I assume these are all just junk chinese cells that have substantially inferior quality components and will produce somewhat acceptable results for a brief period of time and then like chinese nimh cells will fail prematurely.

I see batteries like a tool and imho anything less than quality is just a bad idea . Chinese cells just suck

Lucky Electronics have written back saying Sony, LG, Samsung etc can’t be used directly on AliExpress. This is the real reason behind the “For Samsung” etc.

Exactly what I thought as sometimes searching by a specific brand will show 0 results found.

^ Yeah, that’s what i heard too.
Those Japanese brands don’t intend / want to have their batteries sold as bare cells.
They could get blamed or sued when someone has an accident with them, even if it’s someone’s own fault or ignorance.
Sony sent out a prohibition to sellers, i think 2 or more years ago, to stop or at least avoid any blame for people misusing batteries.

…and then some money hungry sellers decided to misuse the situation by actually selling fakes while suggesting they are made by those brands and they are those sought after types, like VTC6, HG, 30Q etcetera…

So now you have people using low discharge cells for high discharge purposes…

The problem is that the Liitokala stores are selling at direct bulk pricing if these were actual real cells. It’s hard to make a profit selling at such low prices for such low quantities, even including very lost cost air shipping. If you include returns and support, they are just making up cost.

You guys at Illumn have to pay taxes, customs, shipping, real cells, testing materials, higher margins to pay for employees and rent, etc.

Other AliExpress stores have more legit prices, and have been ordered and tested by me. The only problem is that they usually ship via boat, so it takes a very long time to arrive.

On my recent purchased from BG- Samsung 30Q,
they were marked under the wrap with 9 instead of where they should be marked With 0….
According to what is shown on the video
So they may be fake from BG…??

Clarifications.

The 30Qs I bought are from Gearbest. Not Banggood. And are gunuine.
When I wrongly said draw, I should have said output instead.

I used a 100w Geekvape Aegis to test more cells. This thing is unforgiving, I found.
Even if it is designed for a 26650, It bring a rubber insert that allows the use of 18650s.

No battery stayed at the 100w mark.
That includes the 26650 that comes with the Rofis MR70. Which I consider my best battery.

Several of them took less wattage. But stayed on.
The real Samsungs did. 82w.
To my surprise, the Panasonic BDs held. At 80w.
I also suffered a disappointment. The HG2s I have are fake. I paid 5 dollars each. A true ripoff.

The battery business is, like the flashlight business, Caveat Emptor.
I don’t consider a two dollar battery a ripoff. It’s just a cheap battery. For a cheap price.
A cheap battery for a high price is a ripoff. Like the HG2s case.

The only comment I resent, is someone trying to portrait the vaping comunity as ignorants.
There are ignorants in every comunity.
I have a friend that swears for his 10,000mAh 18650. Just because it lasts longer than his 6000mAh.

The vaping comunity is divided in two groups.

The nerds, like me, that buy regulated mods.
For different reasons. In my case, mainly, because I’m lazy. And they are way safer.

And the true vapers. And there are many.
These people build their mods from the ground up.
They have as much knowledge or more, than 99.9% of the flashlight comunity.
They are risking life and limb every time they take a puff.
These are the ones that win competitions. They have my outmost respect.

It’s like in motorcycling. There are riders. And there are bikers. (All Noise).
I stopped being a rider, when I felt I’ve lost key reflexes for 160mph.
I still have the 1000 r/r. But I seldom ride it.
I’m a tourer now. Goldwing. I’ll never be a biker.
Like the guys with the mechanical mods will never be caught with a regulated.

Wait, so the cells you’ve been talking abput aren’t even the ones from the “Liitokala” stores on AliEx?

I dont consider paying a few dollars more for something that will provide longer life and be a “known quantity” personally. Thats why I purchase them where I know Im getting a genuine product and have some recourse if there are any issues. My time is more valuable than the few bucks saved TBH (and my time is worth LESS than many people…)

I do know what wholesale prices are on some of these cells and really have to question products that are sold retail for an equal/cheaper price.
