I stopped by HD today to pick up a few things and just about everyone had several flashlights and multiple batteries in their carts. Made me smile knowing that was something I did not need to worry about. Anyone else have this experience before a storm of one kind or another.
Imagine how unprepared someone is if they are buying flashlights at the last minute
Right?
like the WTaF??
i have enough here in chicago for a week…easy
Fixed that for you.
When I was at Walmart today there was no bread, canned goods, grills, coolers, or water, and people were purchasing some weird stuff. The normal floor to ceiling stack of water at Costco and BJ’s was all gone, no place currently has bottled water. All the gas stations in my neighborhood were out of gas. This has been the normal around here since Tuesday. Everywhere had plenty of beer and liquor, so stock up for the hurricane party . To all my Floridians, stay safe.

Same like those who hear for a week about the blizzard that’s about to drop 8ft worth of snow on their heads, then only realise as it starts snowing… “Duh! I need shovels… and salt… and maybe food-staples like milk and eggs, and…”.
Never ceases to amaze me.
The only thing that flies off the shelves here in Drinking County (Lincoln County) is as you might have guess, beer. When that is gone whiskey is not far behind. I don’t drink anymore so I just grab the bread, eggs and milk. You know, so I can have anyone within a 2 mile radius in for french toast.
I wouldn’t have thought bread. Bread goes bad pretty fast. I guess if they’re using portable coolers though it wouldn’t matter.

bread will last a week, no??
freeze it, even better
Just another day in paradise.
We may all be in this together, but sometimes nature and natural selection occurs. I live in Central Florida, it’s the same dog and pony show every season.
