Maybe it would be a good idea to collect some info about the locations of the factories of our favourite chinese flashlight manufacturers here. Right now there are multiple cities flooded and this may have an impact on manufacturing and shipping capabilities and delays. Do you know where Sofirn, Convoy, Astrolux, Emisar/Noctigon and others have their warehouses?
Emisar (at least its parent company) is based in Nanjing. Neal send his items out from Shenzhen. I don’t know where Fireflies is, but they sent me an update about my order being delayed due to adverse weather.
Edit: Tracing the name of where my payment went, Fireflies is likely located in Shenzhen as well.
I have google mapped where Neal and Hank’s shops may be located based on the shipment info when I place me orders. At the least the town, no specific address. I may have just done it because I was curious how close the were to each other- I remember they were like 18 hours apart. Anyway, my orders from Neal lately have been the fastest they’ve ever been with the most recent order making it to my doorstep in CT, USA in 13 days. I haven’t ordered from Hank in a couple months (KR1 release date), but I just saw his site Update about DHL add on shipping due to … “international shipping is seriously affected by the epidemic.” (Wang, H., Intl-outdoor.com). I don’t know if this is “recent” with all of China, just Hank’s area/region, or if others are having this happen too. My 13 days, very quick shipment with Neal arrived about 3 weeks ago, maybe things have changed since? I don’t know where BG is shipping from, but I just received an order two days ago from them in RECORD speed (18 days, from CN not US), especially considering one of the items I ordered wasn’t in stock when I ordered, and I knew it but ordered anyway; I thought it was going to take 6-8 weeks like normal and I got it in 3 weeks. I actually received the delivery BEFORE the item was supposed to even be restocked! Needless to say, I was surprised to see Hank’s DHL link given Neal and BG have both shocked me with extremely quick ship times in the last two months… anyone have similar experiences? I wouldn’t care but I want to order a light from Hank but don’t really want to pay $18 for shipping, or possibly wait 3 months either… Although it is what it is I think were all used to the long ship times, just order and try to fuggedaboutit…
