I forgot exactly how I came across this forum over a year ago, but I created a profile and was pretty much dormant.
What resparked my interest was a member on Candle Power Forums told me to try posting on here (Budget Light Forums) for questions involving the more affordable flashlights.
CPF, I guess, is for the more expensive high end flashlights of which I have neither interest nor capital.
I would much prefer a Maglite and they are one of my favorite brands.
I do like Sure Fire, but cannot afford them at the moment.
AA and AAA size flashlights are my main interest for edc as batteries are [mostly] affordable and widely available.
The current brands I use at the moment are Bushnell, Enercell, Maglite, Rayovac and UST. There is also a not so familiar brand known as “Police Security.” I am edcing the 3 AAA model with sharp bezel and dizzy strobe for protection.
My other interests are foaming (railfanning), writing, reading, computers and electronics.
I am married and it can get complicated at times, but I will leave that at the door.
Hey Ya ericjohn, you’ll fit right in having no interest or money for high end lights. It will surprise you have much you can spend on budget lights though if you don’t watch yourself around here.
Hello.
“Police Security” doesn’t sound like a brand name to me. It sounds like they are trying to convince people that it might be use by law enforcement people. Various lights say “Police” on them, and I have one that says POLICE and Smiling Shark, printed over each other, like it got into the wrong bin and was labeled twice.
My recent every day carry lights are Smiling Shark 5039s, modified to use Efest 10440 cells. Here is my thread on them: Smiling Shark SS-5039 1 x AAA size flashlight, modification notes, Now 3 x 7135 with modes, on a BLF Tiny 10 board. . Two of them use open source BLF drivers.
