Looking for a ~5B-5C Dedome equivalent?

Then grab some 3A tint XM-L2s from IOS. I just replaced my ET G25C2’s beloved factory XM-L with one and I love it. This is by far the best dedome tint I’ve encountered (In the warm/neutral range). I really can’t stand any green in my lights and I love tints in the 5B/5C range so this was perfect for me. It’ll be my new go-to for semi-throwy reflector lights.

BTW: The 3A isn’t too shabby domed either. It’s in the range I still consider cool but I could live with it. Just the slightest hint of magenta in the spill beam when in a Convoy C8 OP reflector. I actually prefer the 3A over a 3C because IMO 3Cs are greenish yellow with an awful corona.

Thanks I’ll have to try one of those. I dedomed a 3B but wasn’t overly impressed with the tint then tried a 4D which turned out really nice, the same as my fluorescent lights tint which are rated 3500k. So guessing a dedomed 3A should end up about 4000k… Nice.

How was the 4D before you dedomed it? I’ve yet to see one first hand but I’m about to order one to sample from IOS. I’m really in love with my 5B1 80CRI but wouldn’t mind a little more rose/red tint. 5A2-5D2 is what I theorize to be my ideal tint for a domed emmiter.

PS: I’m going to try and post some pics with a 1Add, 3A, 3Add, 5B1, triple 219, and 7C4 xp-g2.

I’ve been looking for a better dedomed XML2 for my modded Aleto N8 zoomie. I’ve tried a bunch of different ones, but the tints just don’t quite satisfy. I hate green in my tint.

My 3A tint XML2s arrived from International Outdoors. I dedomed it and stuck it in my light. This is a light that has already tried 4 or 5 different XML2s, all with a different tint, in an attempt to find one without green.

I confirm that the 3A tint is by FAR the best of the bunch. Far less greenish than any of the others I tried (including 1A, 3C, 2C)! The tint looks very nice. :bigsmile:

Nice to hear that your happy with it! I am still enjoying mine. I did dedome two 3A’s now and one has a “whiter” look than the other. Not a huge difference but still noticeable. If I continue to dedome more of these I’ll have to see if there’s a good correlation to pre and post tint. I’d imagine the more magenta the to start the better…
