looking for a cheap light with the "stick body, large head" form factor. Help me out?

Hey fellas, I got a nice bonus at work recently and I was thinking that I would throw some of that money at a form factor of light that I have always wanted but never bought. I’m looking for a light that takes two 18650s and has a long body with a large head. Something that looks like an m3lt but nowhere near the price point. I would like the light to throw well, but to be honest, the real importance is on price and build quality. I’d like to keep the price of the light and batteries under $50. (US)
I just want a light that can handle being in a backpack and getting bumped around and also provide great light on high and great run-time on med/low.
I have browsed around and saw the FandyFire STL-V6.
that looks good, but i worry that it may be too throwy and not illuminate well at shorter range due to a beam profile that is too narrow.
Please tell me what you think and throw some other options at me.

Thank you all for reading.

I was looking at manafont and saw the skyray g36. I think that with three emitters it nigh be more versatile. Opinions?

Jaygnar,I suggest the trustfire x9,as you said you want throw and that "m3lt" look and this light borrows design elements from surefire.Nice xml thrower and ebay has tons of them for 38.00,only 1 18650 though and has great throw with usable spill.I kicked it up a notch from factory state and put in a nanjg 2.8 driver and gave it to my son for a hunting light, has not failed him and you can choose modes without the flashy crap.

Thanks for the suggestion Darcangel. I like the “look” of that light, but I really want two cells for extra run time. so far, the Fandyfire is still my clearest option.

I thought I recalled seeing a 2-cell clone of the X9 design on DX recently but now I can’t find it… Was I just imagining it?

I’ve just picked up a modded t1, two cell 50ish mm head, xm-l u2 driven at 2a single mode. It’s a real nice light, perhaps a t1 would be worth a look? I also have an old spiderfire x-550. It’s xenon, but still a nice two cell light and I’m sure its available in xm-l now.

Two cell form factor is pretty common to be fair. 8)

Try this one. I have the single celled version and it's an awesome little light. The 2-cell version should be more of the same. Kramer5150 has a quick review of the single cell model along with my input and Viffer750's.

Thanks for the replies guys, but before I read the last two, I pulled the trigger on the Fandyfire STL-V6.
Read way too many great reviews and convinced myself that I needed this thing so…… You guys know how it goes…RIGHT??

ANYWAY, THank you guys so much! you’re great as always!
now I get to play the waiting game!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Congrats!! You ordered one of the best budget lights ever made. It’s one I’ve always wanted to get one myself but couldn’t justify the cost on a dedicated thrower. I hope it does everything you want it to because for what it’s designed to do it’s hard to beat. I can’t recall one person ever getting that light and complaining.

It's the aspheric lights that are most like lasers with no spill at all.

Good choice; I’ve wanted one, but I live in the woods now so I don’t need another long-range thrower… You should have a very nice light!

Thanks for the kind words guys! I’m really looking toward to playing with this thing. To be honest it’s one of the lowest guilt lights that I have ordered since the entire cost was covered by an unexpected bonus. If my company is gonna throw free money at me, then I’m gonna throw some guilt-free lumens… might as well throw them a long way!
