Looking for an emitter

I have an OLD HDS EDC Basic XR 42 GT and the LED finally gave… This was previously modded so I am now looking to put an LED that would fit this base…. I have search and CREE Emitters are more square…. People use to install Seoul P4’s on this lights…. Any ideas?

The form factor for high performance LEDs really has changed. I would try to fit a round MCPCB in the larger indented circle. This wouldn’t be ideal thermally unless you do some work to fill the hole in the middle, but it would probably be fine at lower power levels.

What are the dimensions of that larger indented circle?

An XPG2 would probably be a close match as far as the beam size.

:person_facepalming: Well… this is a borrowed image… :person_facepalming:

Sorry! :frowning:

Mine is even older than this one and does not have the larger indented circle…

Here is mine:

Use an 8mm board to mount your LED.

Thanks for your suggestion. I can’t seem to find one. :frowning:

I have 100 of them but it will also require a spacer to raise the height to get the best focus.

Nitroz would you sell me one with an emitter already solder on?

What is the size of the spacer?

Thanks!

Yes. What temperature LED are you looking at?

The spacer will need to sit in the sweet spot of the reflector so I can vary depending on the LED, type of reflector, and the thickness of the board. I machine these as needed for my mods and I could machine a spacer but it might not be the perfect height.

Do you have any caliper to measure the pocket where the old Luxeon was mounted?

nitroz,

I am taking this to PM’s
Look out for it.

If you have access to a lathe, 15 minutes and 16mm should fit.

can’t you just cut it flat and then if height is a issue just add copper ?
I’d be adding a favorite nichia.
