looking for copper washers for use in folding knives

Hi, I’m looking for copper washers that I can use in folding knives.

I need them to replace some nylon/plastic ones and I don’t know where to find them.

Been trying Ebay and the sorts but the ones I find are all to large, looking for the really thin ones.

Like that are used by Spyderco, arround 0.25 to 1 mm thick I think.

Can someone point me in the right direction, I reckon there must be a site that sells 100 of them in a ziplock bag for 2 dollars

Nothing? :frowning:

Hi. You want to be using phosphor bronze washers for this application. Not copper.
There is not much difference in performance of properly fitted phosphor bronze / nylatron / teflon.

That being said, I don’t really have the answer 100% what you are probably looking for. I have not had to replace washers/bearings on any of my knives (guess I don’t use them enough!). The following are all USA based so shipping cost may not be practical for you.

You can maybe search Aliexpress for bronze washers or washer kits or similar and try engage with the Suppliers to determine if they have suitable phosphor bronze. DHGate have plenty of knife shops. Maybe try message a couple of the bigger ones. Spyderco has a dedicated forum. Someone there should be able to assist.

My mate 8steve88 also used this site - he was impressed with the quality.

From USA there crazy shipping price to EU
