Looking for robust flashlights

Ment for our fire department.
Should have handles/shoulder straps for carying. Also at least 1500+ real lumens and high capacity batteries.
They were offered these http://www.nightsearcher.co.uk/en/category/railways-3c7/product/panther-led-lite-d9.html for 360€/piece :confounded: that’s even worse than the Heider scam lights!!!
Luckyly they contacted me before purchasing.

So, if you have any such flashlights in mind, please let me know.

I’m not aware of anyone who makes a light in the large bombproof style in that form factor. All the high lumen lights are aluminum for heatsinking so they’re turned on a lathe. the largest of your style is this one at 1000lumens. More than that for mass production would require a die cast case.

Just out of interest, in what way are the Nightsearcher lights like the Heider scam? Do they have exaggerated claims/runtimes/shoddy build quality across all models? While I doubt the 9xXP-C light will do 1000m throw, I recently discovered their XHP searchlight and was keeping an eye on eBay for a used model.

For your department; how about something like the Peli 9410L or Streamlight E-Spot Firebox Spot?

Streamlight also do an HID if you want 1Mcd and 3300 lumens, but Pb-Acid battery tech… and probably $$$.

My local fire dept. did a group buy for Zebralights. They bought the head lamps in AA and 18650 for their turnout gear and mount them on their suspenders. They have a mix of surefire and something else mounted to their helmets. The surefire isn’t actually as bright but their idea was that it was pretty much as tough as the helmet it was mounted to.

A proper headlight will be better than such a big one,
