Yes, exactly. I have that 3xAAA battery case I linked, but with that, I have to use 2 dummy AA batteries together with a 14500. That’s not too bad, but it’s a waste of both space and weight having to use the 2 dummy AA batteries, so I hoping to find a enclosure for a single AA/14500 or 18650.
I’ve put together a kind of 10440 simulator that I can attach a 14500 or 18650 to, and it physically substitutes for a AAA battery in the Coast headlamp’s battery holder. I’ll post some pics in the other thread,
That’s close to what I’m looking for, but I need leads for the + and -, plus that one looks like it’s open on one end, and I need the battery to be fully-enclosed.
On the other thread that Aftrburnr mentioned, I mentioned that the thing I’m working on (modding headlamp) is mainly for indoor use, so waterproof/resistance is not an issue (unless someone was going to dump a bucket of water on my head while I was working on a light :)!).
The perfect enclosure for 1 x AA is one of those small Tylenol tubes that you get in the service station with something like a dozen Tylenol tablets in it. Airtight, waterproof, and almost a perfect fit for a spare AA (with a small puff of foam in each end.) I use them to carry spares in my vehicle etc.
I’m sure it would be easy to drill a tiny hole in each end for a wire and a contact.
