A bit disheartening, or rather stupid even, that these new “automotive” LEDs al seem to be cool white.

In this 2017 document I see a mention of 1 mm² Luxeon Neo. Sadly it seems that they abandoned the idea.

What will special benefit of this new led will be? Is this led special because the lumionosity is very high for very small led size?

Basically yes. Good if you’re making a LED array. May also be good for very small hosts like BLF GT Nano 10180.
Otherwise it’s likely outperformed by LEDs with larger packages.
