I’m finding it harder to muster enthusiasm for 70CRI emitters these days.
I wonder if there is any chance of higher CRI versions of the V2

The V has been out for 1.5 years now and no sign yet of other than 70CRI versions. I’m afraid that the V2 will be no different.
I heard the V had good angular tint consistency and overall good tint. I’m a CRI snob genrally myself. But with crappy green tints or heavy tint shift or crazy, one-off solder layouts in a lot of these hi-CRI emitters, I warmly welcome a high efficiency, high power, even/neutral/BBL tinted emitter in a standard package.
Just look at SST-20s and XP-L HIs. Still at the top of the list for even the latest builds that aren’t pencil beam throwers or uber CRI mules. (not that I have anything against those). Why? See last paragraph…
In march 2019 Lumileds changed the specs of Luxeon V2. The max current that once was 2000mA is now 1050mA
Here’s the product change notification.
Did they actually change the leds or was the first spec sheet wrong?
