Hi everyone,
I’d like to share my modified Lumintop GT Mini build.
The attached pictures show the original condition of the light and the final result after the modification.
Original configuration
The light originally came with:
1 / 2 / 3 / 4 stepped modes
separate turbo mode
SFT40 emitter
around ~5A measured turbo current
The light was already a very good thrower for its size, but I was not fully satisfied with it:
no ramping mode (only fixed steps)
large gap between level 4 and turbo
limited usability for sustained output
lack of fine control
Driver swap
The original driver was replaced with a:
Convoy S21E Anduril driver
This converted the light to Anduril control.
Mechanical modifications
the original switch was glued in place and could not be removed without damage
therefore I used the S21E switch board instead
this required modifying the host body for proper fitment
the USB-C charging port fit without modification, however it arrived already damaged (deformed and later broken), although still functional in theory
One additional detail:
a copper contact washer was used, but unlike shown in the pictures, it was not placed on the bottom side
instead, it was installed on the upper side of the contact stack
this resulted in noticeably more stable performance, despite the imperfect solder joints
Current performance (measured data)
Batteries used:
Vapcell T42
Molicel P45B
Measured current draw:
Turbo peak: 10.5A (fresh, fully charged cell)
Sustained turbo: ~8.5–10A (depending on cell condition and voltage)
Ramp ceiling: ~4A (intentionally limited for practical use)
Original stock turbo: ~5A
Usage setup
Normal ramp: limited to ~4A for practical sustained output
Turbo: ~10A burst mode (“wow” output)
Stepped modes were completely replaced by smooth ramping control
Summary
The light is now:
much more controllable
significantly more practical for everyday use
still capable of very strong turbo output
overall far better balanced than stock
The attached pictures show the transformation from stock to final build.
7 Thanks
