It says it has a 4.5A FET driver. Does this mean direct drive or constant current. If I put an Osram KW 1mm in it will i need to replace the driver? and will it take an acebeam 3100 protected battery?

It’s a FET driver so the amperage it’s pulling will vary based on the battery and led.

It fit the longest cell I had which was 69.5mm.

Looking by the throw of your flash, i guess i can compare it to this one, i have used while camping and it really has a good throw plus it has a stun gun in case of an emergency, here have a look “Flash Light + Stun Gun”

For some reason the switch on my sample was malfunctioning. It would not detect presses and sometimes it would detect two instead of one. I loosened the bezel a tiny bit and it’s working fine now. I also opened and closed the bezel yesterday so maybe that’s what caused the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

The switch bezel? If so, sometimes the clearances on the wires solder pads is very tight - might have been a partial grounding on the exposed wires at the pads.

I mean the head. I took the reflector out and put it back in. I didn’t tightness it more than it already was but it made the button/driver behave strangely for some reason. After loosening the bezel a bit it’s working fine.

Quite a bit better in terms of throw, and better UI with NarsilM.

It’s also smaller with a larger reflector.

Don’t buy the GT Mini then. You’ve already got a super mini thrower like the V6.

A quick comparison.

The Catapult V6 is a:
Bigger light
Bigger led
Bigger hot spot
Bigger power (assuming it lives up to specs)
Bigger price
Same throw distance

The GT Mini should be very similar in performance to a FET driven C8 xpl-hi light. Of course, the interface and UI is going to be different.

Why do you think this? Maybe you are thinking of a regular C8 with xml2. I compared these 2 lights here.

If we are talking about a C8 with xpl-hi and FET driver, like a Astrolux C8, we have the same emitter and same lumens, but the GT Mini has a slightly larger reflector which gives it a tiny bit more candela and distance. So not a big difference at all.

i meant stock c8 has no chance against the gt mini, stock c8 has what 70k candela and around 400m throw cw if even that ? the gt mini doubles both those…
