Pros:

  • Feels good in hand
  • Clean Lines
  • Coated Glass
  • Nice Side Button
  • 18650 or 26650
  • Aluminum Reflector
  • Pill is actaully the head of the light
  • Nice hot spot, just a hint of rings

Cons:

  • Have to cycle modes to turn off (any way to fix this ?)

  • Laynard Boss is kinda pokey in the pocket it will get ground off a little bit to smooth out

Features / Value: ★★★ -3 because of driver

I really like the size and feel of this light, as well as the look as a whole. I would rather have seen driver modes that could be turned off without having to cycle through them all everytime. Nice Glass lens with a clear o-ring behind it. All body parts fit very nice and align straight.

Design / Build Quality: ★★★

  • annodizing looks great clean no flaws
  • o-ringed on each section - the one on the back battery tailcap was missing.
  • came with a battery tube to run an 18650 or 26650
  • Threads are decent, my Tangsfire C8 were much nicer
  • Dirver does H-M-L-Strobe-SOS - no memory ? Is about 30mm Diam.

Reflector is all aluminum Threads are decent

Inside Threads Nice Stainless Bezel

Tail stands Great!

I used at work inside

the electrical cabinet and

it lit up the whole thing

offsets the modes for me

as it can be in my tool box

for just this purpose. Also

kills the issue of the laynard Solid tail cap with just a spring there.

boss being pokey.

Battery Life: ★★★★★ - typical for a light of this nature.

This light should have good battery life but with the cost of some light output. I will have to double check these with a few battery flavors tomorrow as they are at work. I think I can get high though

Hi - 1.87 amps

Med - .74 amps

Lo - .20 amps

Strobe - .7 to 1.2 amps

S.O.S. - 1.75 amps

Light Output: ★★★★ - 3.5

Light output is good. It is a little bit ringy but I think messing with the reflector height just a bit might make that go away. Its not a rocket burner but a good performer. I do not see any PWM in any of the modes at all. That is a big plus. The light is White and maybe just slightly on the cool side of the tints. I also like the spacing of the modes low is a good useable amount of light for inside electrical cabinets and what not. A lot of times high can be blinding and the super lows are sometimes just too low.

Summary: ★★★★ -3.5

The light is all around a good size, nice feel, can take either 18650 or 26650 batteries. My only 2 complaints are the laynard tab being pokey, and the driver having to cycle through modes. Both could be fairly easy to remedy. The only down side to that is the cost of the light already being border line budget at the $37.50.

I noticed that the tailcap can screw right into the head of the light. This might make a nice unit to use with an external power source. I would think there would even be enough meat in that tailcap to drill and tap to make a mount. I could se this mounted to some sort of flexible arm to make a nice work light. I carried this light around in my pocket for days already and dropped it in the mud a couple of times helping to install a hot tub. It came out of the box very clean and nice.

Lust*e*fire?
What odd names they’re using…

So it is a pill less design?

That looks more like the right price!

This is a little high cost, but all depends what size you are looking for. It's certainly a bit higher cost than most alternate sizes. The head is smaller than a C8 (40mm vs 45mm), so won't throw as well as a C8, but better than a A8. The Yezl Y3 with it's bigger reflector than a HD 2010 beats it in throw easily. The Warsun ET26 also has a bigger reflector and seems like it's got better mode changing (long press to OFF), but not sure if it has a SS bezel.

Thanks for the review millerman. The lanyard hole does look a little hurtful. At 1.87 amps this should run a decent time on the bigger battery.

Pok - Thought I've seen this design/look around, and cheaper... The UF from BangGood has a different tailcap design for sure, probably not SS bezel for that cost, and who knows what else. Suspect $12 will get you a $12 light (), which may be ok, like the Small Sun TY-29 and TY-11's, but is not going to be the light reviewed here. It's certainly not a straight re-branding, but more like a cheaper clone.

despite the having to go through all the modes to turn on and off. This has proven to be a dependable ruged light. Been using at work daily to see how it held up. I really like the fact that it is so stable while tail standing, I set it in a corner of the control panel of the machine I am working on and its enough light to see everything I need to do.

Other than the modes having to be cycled through I really enjoy this light. It resides in my toolbox at work
