Ok, it’s about time. I’ve never done a giveaway, so be gentle, and I hope I don’t screw this one up :)!
This is giveaway for an HS1010 lux meter. I didn’t buy it from FT (unfortunately - see “story” below), but this is the same:
http://www.fasttech.com/product/1274500-hs1010-illuminance-brightness-light-meter
The story here is that I ended up with 3 of these, mainly because one place took so long to get these to me, and so I now have 3 lux meters in-hand, and no one, even on BLF needs 3 of lux meters :)!
Unfortunately, this is for CONUS, and I’ll take care of the shipping.
Rules are simple (copied and edited from ImA4Wheelr’s thread - hopefully he won’t mind :)!):
- BLF Member since July 1st or earlier.
- One entry person. Subsequent multiple entries are disqualified.
- Winner will be selected on July 21st (coming Sunday), using Random.org.
- If a disqualified post is selected, the next qualifying post will be the winner.
- If the winner doesn’t PM me with mailing info within a reasonable amount of time (of my choosing, but probably a day), the next qualifying post will be the winner.
Good luck!
Edit: Forgot to mention - just post an “I’m in” is good enough to enter :)… See? I told you this was the first time :)!
Edit 2: Answering some questions posted here, so it doesn’t mess up random.org: I have 3 lux meters, 2 of these (one NIB, for this giveaway), and one the same brand but with the detached sensor. I got the detached one first, and then I ordered one of the non-detached ones (same as the giveaway one), because I wanted to double-check the detached one). My order got kind of messed up, so I ordered another one (non-detached, same as the giveaway one) from Ebay, from a seller I suspect is actually Tmart.com alias. I got that latter one awhile ago, and used that vs. the original detached sensor one, and the readings were similar for both of them.
I’ve been using an HD2010 with EAST-092 driver as a kind of benchmark, and the readings from both the detached and non-detached one come in about 40Klux - 47Klux, so “in the ball park”. I have both “mounted” on a big magnetic thing on our fridge, almost side-by side.
So, I’m assuming that the 3rd one (for this giveaway) will perform about the same as the other two, but like I said, it’s NIB (unopened).
These have some nice features, include a “Max” (press that, and it captures the max lumens/foot-candles), a data capture mode (50 captures), a “Min” (I never use that), plus some other features that I haven’t used.
I hope that this answers the questions?

Edit 3: The winner is garrybunk (#32):
Congrats, garry - Please PM your snailmail address, and I’ll get this out to you!
