Luxeon M.
Philips leds are not far behind Cree usually, and have better tints. And a flashlight without 'Cree' on it is refreshing ;-)
Ok, back to Cree then, this would be a fine host for the XH-P50/70
I see…well i didn’t know that one, i ordered one, just to try. ![]()
thanks !
Did you receive yours yet??
Like it??
Well, honestly, it’s not that great, on the unit i received the led is not well centered and the tint is a cold white a bit blueish.
Construction of the flashlight is similar to the 3T6 Trustfire which was ok 4 years ago, but today, after getting some Roche and Convoy units, construction seems weak.
Anodisation is similar to 3T6, threads are average.
Basically, performance is on the low side ( i didn’t measure the amps yet) and the high mode seem to step down a few seconds after you entered it, even with fresh Sanyo cells, i even wonder if my unit is working fine….
I was quite disappointed, and i feel that this form factor is getting old in front of can lights like the solarstorm T3 or T4 ( which is really A LOT brighter for a mere 5 dollars difference).
I paid 23 $ for the Trustfire 500A which is ok, but honestly, if you need a flashlight get a convoy, it’s cheaper and far better.
If you’re interested in owning a led which differs from the mass, you can go and have look, but it won’t be more than that.
Thanks !
I ordered another Trustfire T1 for $20. I still like mine quite a bit and i can just upgrade to a XML2-U2 easily and bring it up to speed.
THANLS AGAIN!
But again: for modders this seems a relatively easy modding host for a xhp50/70 led: 2x18650 and a heavy OP shallow reflector that smoothes out the dark center of the beam, all it needs is the led on copper and a zener modded blf-fet driver (what is the driver diameter in this one ?)
The pill-driver assembly screws into the head of the light, which screws into the light body so heat dissipation is not the greatest. I wish that the assembly screwed in the body of the light.
