At the Waterbury CT store today. They have a bunch. $12.97 means that they are on clearance. The AA lite includes batteries and a holster. Also includes a lens cover.
I will include a photo of the display when I can get to a PC

good to know thanks!
Do you recall if ican or led?
EDIT: That “LED” in the title just blew right on past me. Please excuse the dumb a question.
WOW… that is cheap!
Anyone know where international buyers can get cheap Maglites?
I wondered the same because a used and scratched one, costs here more than this new bundle…
Great deal.
That is an incredible deal. Wish they had it posted on their website. Might be able to get HD to price match that way. I wonder if a picture would be good enough. Anyone ever try?
If anyone finds these at their Costco, please take a photo and post it here.
I have photos and will post when I get to a pc. I am traveling in Ohio and only have an iPad. Does anybody know how to upload pics to photobucket from an iOS device?
Here is a pic of the display

Here is the combo package

Dang, that’s got to be the cheapest I’ve ever seen Mags go at retail or otherwise
Costco rocks!
Thank you dchomak. I’ll report back if it works at HD. Nearest Costco to me is about 2 hours away.
OK, dchomak. You the man. Not only did you find this great deal and report it, you posted that picture that can be used to get price matching other places.
I stopped at HD on the way home with a print out of the first picture. Interestingly, they had two 3D/2AA combos mixed together with $28 price tags. I took both the service desk and asked for price checks. The combo that stated 2?? meter range came up $18. The combo with the 364 meter range came up $28. I wonder if Costco made a mistake and discounted the wrong model. Who knows. I imagine a new emitter model is coming out that will obsolete both of the above models.
I showed them the picture and said it was from Costco. There was some discussion because there is no Costco in this town and it isn’t considered a competitor. I told them that Costco does sell a lot of tools and supplies and that I have family in a nearby town that can get me stuff there. That is a true statement, but I must admit that I wouldn’t ask them to purchase a flashlight for me. Not unless it was very special. I get the impression my family doesn’t understand my fascination with flashlights. Anyway, that worked and they matched the price.
Thank you dchomak ![]()
… and i thought my 2D led mags i bought were a good price @14.99. Good deal find!……
off topic but reminds me saw a sign today that said buy a RAM get a DART free at local car dealership(insert fine print)
Played with the lights a little last night. They are both pretty darn nice as is. I purchased with the intention of modding, but I think I may leave them be for quite awhile. Only changes to the 3D that I made were putting in a glass lens and adding copper braid to the huge tail spring. Couple nice surprises for me (probably old news to everyone else):
Only negative is the typical Maglite beam artifacts. Big doughnut hole in flood. Some light rings and off-center distortion when focused. I tried something fun. Replaced the lens with a plastic atmospheric from those cheap 3D Tractor Supply lights. Fits nicely and is pretty much in focus with the reflector in place. Seemed to really increase the throw, but hard to tell as I didn’t go somewhere open enough to find out. Took the atmospheric right back out though because the lens would get scratched real fast sticking out way past the short Maglite bezel.
EDIT: Emitter appears to be XP-E in the 3D. I guess a cheap easy mod would be to reflow the new XP-E2. I think all the XP’s have the same foot print. Does anyone have a recommendation as to XPG2 vs XPE2? I’m guessing XPG2 would make the hot spot bigger. For me (actually my wife. She likes carrying an ican 3D club in her car), bigger beam would be better.
How about someone trading this set for one 8-pack of Eneloop batteries? (including shipping)
Holy crap, I just noticed these were for LEDs. ![]()
.
Dang I don’t have membership there. |(
Ill be heading to my local one here in Maryland this afternoon ........ummmmm Hot Dog combo and a churro!!
Wife is going with me so I doubt I will be able to get any flashlights....
PyTech, check out post 12. Might work for you too.
One of the best features of the 3D is that it will run for 79 hours. Think about that. The 2D only runs for 10 hours. You would at first think you would only get 50% more run time with the 3rd cell. I think it’s because it has a buck driver and with Alkaline cells you can run them down all the way to zero. No need to limit the discharge level. Something to be said for disposables.
Here is a link to the discussion about last years Black Friday sale at Lowes, a 2D LED Mag for $14.99. At post 59 I listed the merits of an LED Maglite.
