Manker E14 Quad Nichia 219 missing modes

So I bought the 18650 tube for the light and it worked fine with an AW 18650 (2200mAh) with the 7 mode no-memory factory setting just like the shorty single IMR 18350 setup …… until I dropped in the both of the 18350 IMR’s into it to see how much brighter it would get.

After closing the tail cap, initial press of of the switch gave me nothing… a second press gave me a flash and turned off… 3rd press and it came on full bore turbo and got really hot… subsequent soft presses switched modes but did not cycle between all 7. Unscrewed the tail cap and dropped the 18650 back in and the turbo and battery health modes are gone. Now it runs in the 4 mode with no turbo and the battery health indicator mode is missing completely in single cell mode. To get turbo back (usually heats up the head quick) I’d have to revert to putting both IMR 18350 cells in…

Any similar experiences out there? I may just order another Manker E14 triple nichia if there are no fixes. By the way I get a white light compared to my EagleTac Triple Nichia P60 (rosy pink) that I use in a Solarforce L2T host.

You just burned the attiny on the driver…

E14 isn’t designed to run from 2x batteries (8.4V) but only 4.2v (single battery)

Thanks gioroskok for the confirmation info. Looks like I’m gonna have to order a new one E14. That’s what I get for not following directions and eager experimentation. No more 1400 lumen pocket rocket…

Yep, those drivers were 3.99 in US warehouse few days ago. Haven’t checked since.

Yeah I could try that but that’ll have to wait until I can get one of those alligator clamp holders with the magnifier glass. I’ll report back when I get the driver and fix the light. See ya in a few months.

If you cover shipping, I’ll replace the driver for you for free. I have a couple sitting around. I’ll even bypass the springs on the driver and the switch for you.
