Hi, I don’t know if I can do this but I’ll try.
I just wanted to mention that the following site has the Maratac AAA copper lights back in stock today.
I was hooked when I bought a member of this forums copper light by Rey?
Lumintop style he sold is beautiful and I’ve been watching for these to come back around and finally they did so thought for the other copper lovers I’d mention it.
Hope I don’t get in trouble, I am not attempting to promote this company just mention the light as it seems they’re hard to get, or for me anyhow.
They’re not always in stock because they are only produced in batches. It can be found often at massdrop for $44.99, it appears every 2 months or so and only 300-500 units available. Usually they’re gone within a week.
And if I remember correctly, maratac lights are manufactured by lumintop, in some models they share the same driver/components and the parts are interchangeable.
I used to keychain-EDC mine with a 10440 for about 6 months and was very happy with it, but I upgraded to something more powerful.
Yes you are very welcome, I did not know I had a messages here, I was told they are working on the site, yes it’s a beauty and I did mention because of the batches are just now and then.
I order the CR123 copper I believe it was today through MassDrop and yes it was $44.99 and it was a much better price than what they were asking at CountryComm where I got the AAA I just have to wait a bit for the MassDrop to finish,
I am a copper addict for sure, I’ve always wondered who was the manufacturer of the Maratac’s,
I’d love to ask you what EDC it was you upgraded to with more POWER??
I’ll have to keep checking back here in hopes of finding out, I think something is wrong with receiving message notices for awhile or so as I understood, Thanks again for the info
Edit: Dumped the Massdrop and just picked the light up from this company, it’s on the way and a few bucks cheaper than the Massdrop price would be with shipping and all, BladeHQ
Just beautiful,
The patina on the CR123 is really heavy, love your lighter to, ha
I am wondering if the X5 & X6 copper is treated?
I have them sitting out and patiently watching for the patina, but nothing yet…
First it was the Fenix E15 2016 edition with 450lumens, it has decent throw but I felt the output was lacking, then I ordered the mecarmy PT16. It makes 1,000+ lumens with a 16340. Mine will be arriving this week and I’ll post a review.
The maratac CR123 is a very nice light, it has been in my wishlist for a long time but the output is a bit low for my liking, so I got the Olight S1 raw copper + SS bezel instead, very happy with it. review here Olight S1 Raw Copper + SS Bezel review
Real nice lights you mention, just love them all, of course…
I got the CR only because of Copper first most and I just went and double checked lms and their claiming the CR has,
Using a single CR123 Cell battery we got the following results:
Low mode, 2 lumens output for up to 210 hours
Medium mode, 55 lumens output for up to 5 Hours
High mode, 300 Lumens output for up to 1.6 Hours
Edit: X
What kind of driver is in the CU Maratech AA light ?
How many lumens on each level ?
How does it compare with the Olight i3s eos ?
Can you swap out the drivers ?
Does anyone know ? Thx
I believed the copper for X5 and X6 are treated or covered with some sort of protection material.
I’ve read some posts at Kronos X5/X6 thread that some users use metal polisher or remover to get rid of the protective material to allow the copper on X5/X6 to patina.
On the Maratac, the copper is not treated at all, hence the reason they come sealed in aluminium foil. It sure patina very fast
