Samsung 40t @ 3.57v = 2250 lumen… very impressive with the 20700/21700.

Nice. It’s strange that your 18650 couldn’t get it into turbo.

I bet he was using that adapter which is junk and causes a lot of losses.

But I was using the same 18650 adapter that came with the light and the Sofirn performed the same as Samsung

Adapters always add resistance which reduces voltage. I don’t have a good reason why Newlumen’s vtc6 could not activate Turbo. Maybe just dirty contacts. ¯\/¯

I dont know what i did wrong… now i get 2160 lumen with the sony vtc6 button top…

Maybe the switch need to break in… i dont know… or the contact is dirty.

Did you clean the contacts? If so, then that’s probably why. I’ve been having alot of problems with the TC20 not going to Turbo. Everytime after I wipe the contacts in the flashlight and battery terminals, then it is fine again.

I’ve been doing it a few cycles now with the NCR20700B. They fit well and finish at 4.18 volts. It charges at 500 Mah how ever.

Another update. Got a pair of Samsung 50E 21700 5000 mah batteries yesterday and ran some voltage test. It’ll go to Turbo at 3.55 volts but only last a second at this point. Drops out of high at 3.25 volts. Drops out of medium-high at 3.14 volts. Drops out of medium-low at 3.08 volts.

It’s becoming a favorite light of mine and if it proves very durable it’ll be a new duty light partnering the Pflexpro 2 mode 3.8 amp light.

Just tested the tk01 again with the samsung 40t… i got 2260 lumen @ turn on… great job mateminco.

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s exactly like the Astrolux FT01. On and off is by the tail switch. The side switch controls the levels. Dbl clk for turbo, press/hold for strobe, SOS and beacon.

The side switch only controls the levels, not on/off.

It is the tail switch that controls on/off. Since it cuts all power, it also acts like a lockout.

I’m a sad man now… I am not a fan of that setup at all. I’m slowly but surely selling my lights that work like that, in some cases I have even given some of them away. Guess I’ll have to pass on this beauty

That is a pretty different light (3 x XPL). The 18650 version is one click on, press/hold off. The 21700 version has a ramping mode which has one click on/off.

The SP33 is closer in design to the TK01 using a xhp50.2 with boost driver. It is one click on/off and press/hold to change stepped levels.

Yes, but it still has the stepped option in the UI. I’m not specifically looking for a boost driver light. I have had my fair share if s#itty boost driver lights. As long as I get single click for on/off, press and hold to change modes/ramp, a good combination between flood and a bit of throw with at least 2000 lumens, using a 21700 cell then I’m happy. I can live with lights having ramping UI and others having press and hold to step up UI. Some of the shortcuts are very similar anyway. All my lights have a very specific purpose and this one will too… However, reaching for two different buttons to turn on/off and to change modes is a deal breaker for me.

Me too.
We know Mateminco and Astrolux can do good UI’s where the side switch can do everything. I really don’t understand why they went with on/off only with the tail switch. Seems odd.

Exactly! Why didn’t they give this beauty a better UI?! Some won’t mind it, different horses different courses. Maybe it even has a good boost driver… Can’t seem to find lots of info on this light. Guess I’ll keep my options open for now.
