What is the max 18650 you want in 1 light?
Just saw one that will hold 8 18650, that’s like a laptop!
2 is max for me. Series or parallel.
8 would be the highest yes.
With springs bypasses and thick enough contacts, you can get absolutely massive output with great runtime.

For size, one is plenty, two is pushing it. Even if I could have afforded it, I wasn’t interested in the GT because it’s so huge! It holds 8 cells.
I’m okay for the size of lights like the BLF Q8 and above.
Below that, it is just overkill. 3-4 cells is the perfect balance between power and usability.
I do want an 8 cell carrier for my MT09R though.

Having said that, I like my Q8. It has four cells. But I don’t take it anywhere. It’s too big for me to want to carry it. I use it tail-standing to light a room.

Its depend… i have many 8 cells light… loving it… great runtime.
Sword is right… longer runtime with 8 cells.
Fenix tk75 with extended kit is not too big…

1 I have a 2 cell light for spotting. Would like to try a 3-4 cell soda can light, but they seam to fat. So yeah, ONE for my vote.
I also worried about batteries not being equal and cause problems.

I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a 2 cell C8. Has that ever been done? I would buy one if it were done right.
There is a 2S battery carrier and driver you can buy from Lexel to power XHP35HD/HI.

I like the Q8. I wouldn’t want anything larger than that without a specific need.
Other than that, my ideal is <1 18650 for an EDC light. Specifically either a 18350 tube on an 18650 light, or a 14500/AA.
For more power or runtime, I prefer 26650 over >1 18650. All that said, I have a number of 1x18650 lights I like and use.

Well ,the soda can light is actually about the size of a 12oz soda can. If you can hold a soda can ( a full one) horizontally without it being uncomfortable, you could hold a Q8. A 3-cell tube would be a little easier to hold, and still give lots of run time.

I never found any light with more than 4 appealing.
I like my single-cell lights the most, though quads sometimes appeal to me as well.
But I’d like to have a mega-light with 7 cells and a separate handle - I think I would like it.

This is the irony for me…from 1, 2 and now 4 to 8-cell 18650s are coming out regularly (and I have all of them), but just sleeping soundly in their original boxes while my most-used is either my 1xAAA or the “much” bigger 1 x AA !!!

Yeah, my most loved ones are sub-18650 too. Emisar D4 and D1 with shorty tubes.

I like simple light most. One light one cell. Two cells max.
