Agreed. This greatly help convince people that you really own the item you’re selling especially when there’s some big $$$ involve in the transaction. Back then, I had very low count of cpf marketplace transaction, compared to the other guys there who sells lights that cost $1K and above, when I sold my Polarion PH50 for $2K+ with the help this.
Off topic but this looks pretty sweet for $43.
I’m amazed actually.
I would wear this while biking at night, perhaps looking like a mad scientist.
Gonna take a load of cash to get one bigger than mine.
I peered into the beam of mine on low at about 150-200ft. Eyes were fully adjusted to the dark at the time. Let me just say I will never do that again. Instant blindness for about 30secs. Literally was kinda scary. Worse than a low powered laser pointer at that distance. Never been hit in the eye by a higher powered laser pointer , and don’t really care to know which is worse. Having a direct hit by either will not be a fun experience.
WOW!! Tough room! Candlepower got out of hand, so decided to switch allegiance. Have a move looming, so I have a bunch of stuff I’ll be letting go. I can’t post photos without using a hosting site, and I haven’t moved them.
Nice light. I used it on the PD for 10 years, retired, and it’s been sitting in my garage. This is not a HID converted Thor or other megathrower. It’s like comparing a scalpel to an ax. Both get the job done, but one’s a little neater.
Tried selling it on ebay but someone flagged it since it’s technology that can’t be exported or something.
Dudmar, thanks. Looks like you’re an escaping refugee as well……
At the risk of being banned, here is a link to a craigslist ad, with the photos.
Far from it. A 1 or 2W laser will blind you instantly within a few hundred meters, this won’t, blink reflex is too fast.
The maxabeam also has a UV filter lens, but if it didn’t then it possibly could blind you.
It is also not dangerous to shine a light like this at a helicopter or plane. It has been tested before, and even a low powered laser pointer less than a watt is far worse, due to the way the laser light refracts after hitting the glass of a window. A white light searchlight is just a bright light.
You won’t get banned here for posting links to flashlights, but we do typically go for more budget so you may or may not get a buyer on BLF.
This is a tough room, we should probably do better, i think this thread has just gotten a but rougher then usual.
We typically work with lights that are maybe $250 or less (often $25 or less ), not to say your light is not worth your selling price or that its not an amazing light (i’m very impressed) but its in a different league then we are used to, so with apologies we are usually quite friendly
