How do you measure the standby current in a convoy flashlight ?

Unless you have a Convoy S9, this is not necessary, since Convoy lights have physical switches which cut out standby drain.

The only standby will be that of the battery inside of the light.

OK thanks. What do you mean by writing “only standby will be that of the battery inside of the light”. Do you mean Li-Ion self-discharge which is extremely small ?

Yes, that is it.

Li-ions self-discharge very slowly.

In order to get a stand-by drain, your flashlights needs to be using an electronic switch.
Currently, the only Convoys that are using one are the L4, BD06 and S9.

In order to measure the parasitic drain, your meter needs to support current readings in the uA scale - most cheap ones do.
To take the measurement:

Remove the tailcap.
Connect one lead of your multimeter in the negative contact of your battery.
Connect the other lead to the lip of the flashlight's body to complete the circuit.

Thank you for the information. I know how to make measurements on a torch, but I had a problem with s2+. After your help I think that i have a problem with the meter. BD06 or S9 do not indicate anything. The meter does not flicker. So I’m asking you because I’m running out of ideas what’s wrong. I am betting a defective fuse on the mA / uA line, but I will verify it by measuring some LED connected to the battery.

I could measure and measure. Nothing would work.
The fuse in the meter has fallen :person_facepalming:
