Mechanically lockable switch

The new Sofirn SD03 diving light has a rotary lock around the switch. It seem like a good idea compared to finicky firmware locking protocols. Reminds me of on/off switches around the the shutters in cameras. Are there other lights using this idea? Also, are there any downsides of such an implementation?

The Sofirn IF24 uses something similar. I like it, it’s more convenient than multiple clicks or loosening the tail-cap.

It’s not a mechanical lockout though, momentary moon is still available as is some level of parasitic drain, although that’s likely to not be an actual problem.

I would not trust anything to actually keep a light locked in a backpack that is not also a pain to unlock with a single hand…

Sounds like Barry should add another level of lock to IF19 :-)

Nitecore EDC35 They have a EDC33 too, both have a dedicated lock out switch.
