It takes a wrestler to beat another wrestler in many cases, wrestling is such an important aspect in this sport. In this case GSP might stand a chance to beat Khabib as not only that GSP has pretty good wrestling, his striking is also better than Khabib. But the only disadvantage from GSP might be his age though. I hope they make this happen.

GSP might stand a chance if he is able to AVOID Khabib’s ground and pound. Once Khabib gets a hold of you chances DO NOT look good for escape. Especially when the guy fights very angry like against Mcnuggets.

A clear Khabib fan no doubt!
Khabib has done well in the cage.
His international and national following are HUGE.
Although, GSP would stand far more than “a chance” against Khabib.

As for Khabib’s “fights angry” with McGregor.
If by angry you mean out of control, unprofessional, and dangerous to the fans. I agree.
Khabib is suspended as of October 24th by NSAC, half his winnings/purse withheld for his CONDUCT post fight.
His punishment has just begun from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Far more sanctions to follow December 10, 2018.

Askren is 34. If this pans out, for sure he has another good run in him. Love to see it happen. Put some tape over Dana’s ears

Too bad GSP has been away from MMA for too long (almost 4 years!) hence he may not in his prime now. If he is in his prime he can certainly pose a serious threat to Khabib if they get a chance to fight each other. Guy is a little bit boring to watch but his wrestling skill is solid. He was once on the Olympic wrestling team IIRC. He is also renown as a strategist and always come with a solid gameplan - be it a striking game (literally use Jab all the way to win against Josh Koscheck) or wrestling game.

I don’t know who else have very good wrestling skill in lightweight division but someone with excellent BJJ (Tony Ferguson) might cut it as well. The key is to decode Khabib’s wrestling, or at least know how to react to it well when you’re on your back. Mcgregor has neither and that’s why he doesn’t have answer to Khabib’s wrestling game. He is just a pretty good striker and that’s all.

GSP is a very smart fighter with solid game plan. He is well rounded. BUT Khabib is one of those guys that makes you ” PAY BIG TIME ” when you accept fight against him. Especially when he fights extremely angry like against Mcnuggets. Khabib wanted to ” HURT ” Mctapper but ref jumped in and saved Mcnuggets from WORSE BEATING.

As far Ferg. His BJJ is very good no doubt. Decent striking and wrestling. Does that entitle win? NO. No one has been able to ” decode ” Khabib’s fighting attacks at all. He is unbeaten for a reason. He is as Triple H would say ” that damn good “.

Rogan is a ” JOKE ” no matter how much money he has made. His commentating is EXTREMELY biased and DEFAMATORY. Not only as commentator but on his podcast.

I know he beat Lima and some Russian named Kershov. Lima WOULD NOT even be ranked top 10 let alone top 5. BTW, Lima lost title to Rory Mcdonald.

I was a big fan of the ORIGINAL ufc…

no timed rounds, no “points for aggressiveness”, no re-starts and more re-starts everytime someone gets stalled in a good guard.

I will still WATCH, but… the aspect of watching a “REAL FIGHT” is long gone.

The guy Khabib jumped the fence to fight is Dillon Dantis. Mgnuggets BJJ head coach. Too bad Mctapper DID NOT learn any type of BJJ submission defensive moves from the ” SO CALLED ” ace of BJJ coach.

I’d have to say I think of the top 5 Lawler would have to be one of the hardest matchups for him. I suspect Dana doesn’t want him to succeed due to the past between those 2 and his fighting style.

Mike Perry can now stfu and go away and go back to beating lessor opponents.
