I admit I know enough about these lights to get into trouble. I recently purchased a light for use at night with a red filter, after using it a weekend ago and not being overly excited about the performance I would like to make it better. The light has 3 Cree style lights in it hooked to the motherboard. It runs off 4 cr123 batteries in series. I would like to change the current white led to red. I honestly do not understand the correlation between the motherboard and the lights. If someone out there could point me to the correct LEDs to purchase I would be so thankful. The board has TR-0036B stamped on it.
Well these would be the correct LEDs.

However, I'm not sure if this will work as the red LEDs run off a lower voltage than the white LEDs.
I dont know for sure if this driver could be used for red leds but I have used red leds in single led lights with factory stock drivers origionaly had white leds. Would be worth trying but probably need more information like how much current is the light pulling. They make a red in xrc which would be pretty much a direct swap if the current is not to much.
this is on a 20mm star red xrc link
goodluckbuy.com has the red xrc in 16mm it says it xre it but it is not have ordered these before. Also a 11.6mm size also.
There is also a xpe in red at international outdoors which will take more amps but cant get the link right this minute.
Hope this helps and not to unorganized to understand……… :~
Whats is the application you want to use this for and more pics could help.
forgot about ledsupply scaru thanks
Here is a red xpe from them
How do I figure out the current? The led’s seem to be glued down so i dont see a model number. If i purchased the led’s on the star board, do i need to cut the board down or remove the led. What kind of pictures do i need to take? I am using the light for elimination of crop destructing vermin (wild pigs)
Hi do you know the model of light you have, and r you using rechargeable cr123’s
Hi do you know the model of light you have, and r you using rechargeable cr123’s or primarys.?
You would have to use a digital multi meter (dmm) to figure out the current. You would have to either cut down the board or depending on the size of the board you might be able to find it. If you can do some soldering this should not be to hard to swap out of the led and board assembly then solder the wires back on then apply some thermal paste and center the leds in the reflectors (which is not as hard with the red xrc versus the xpe but the xpe is not to difficult just a little more work).
Pictures looking straight on from the end of the pill looking at the leds and the model of the light or a picture of the body would help. Even a link to where you bought it would be helpful.
Ok, I just looked at the packaging info and it states it uses 3 x Cree xlamp XR-E led bulbs. The light is a game winner 3 Cree led scope light that I got for x mas last year.
I can solder but I have never done anything this small. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. I don’t think I can do the volt meter test due to the complexity of the assembly however here is a shot of the light housing.
That is some small boards but they can be done. I would look at those xrc red from goodluckbuy that I linked in the earlier post I made in the 11.6mm size. Thats about as small of a board as I have seen others might know of smaller. Also I know that they have a 10mm xpe green LINK . Those are some options.
thanks for the pics
