RollTide used his repairing skills to replace the Nichia 219D emitter in my Folomov 18650s flashlight. The flashlight no longer gets insanely hot in turbo mode and is brighter. The emitter is perfectly centered and I mean perfect. The new high CRI emitter shows colors to be richer and they have more depth. I forgot what a nice small flashlight it is. Todd you did a great job fixing the flashlight for me. The 18650s is now my favorite flashlight. Thanks man.

Wait, is a SST-20 4000k 95CRI emitter more efficient than a 70CRI 219D emitter?

I’m not 100% sure. I will get both data sheets and compare them. I just thought it would be a good emitter for what he wanted it for. It seems a bit more throwy but not by a bunch. I am not a 3000K lover by any means but I was surprised with the combination of the tint and color rendition. It also runs one heck of a lot cooler now. Of course it still gets heated up on the highest setting but nothing like it did before and not as quick. Also no more emitter turning weird color changes. I am definitely no expert modder. I just so happen to have a still somewhat steady hand and a little bit of patience.

Think I will order a few of those emitters in 5000K as soon as Kaidomain gets more in stock. Or someone does anyway. I don’t even know the best places to buy them. Mountain and KD are my main go to’s.
