A few people on here from time to time ask about rgbw lights and it never seems to get anywhere. I have made one before using the same driver and led as I have in this little mod, but for some reason the red stopped working.
Anyway I just did another one up out of a cheapie utorch s2 clone, pretty painless and surprisingly to me it worked first time!
This clone has a nice brass pill in so it has reasonable cooling, not that it will probably need it - not powerhouse lol! Bright enough for sure though and lights up my garden with a nice even flood.
Used a Cree XM-L Color Neutral White 4500K Red Green Blue RGBW LED Emitter from Kaidomain already on a board (they do 2 sizes) LINK
I also got the driver from them LINK
And also finally the lens LINK This had to be popped out of it’s little holder to fit.
It was all pretty painless really, a bit fiddly getting the wires through the holes - the red fatter silicone wire (+) went with blue and white through one hole and the rest the other side, was the only way the wires would all reach really. I think if I take it apart ever I’d widen those holes slightly, or round the edges. It’s also worth noting here to have schematics for the led board and driver, some thin strips of insulating tape and a marker! fed the through 1 at a time then put a lil tag on them!
The UI isn’t anything brilliant but there are two mode selections (5 or 7) Sadly it seems to be next mode memory…. unless somehow that’s changeable? Edit, if you leave it off long enough it comes back on in white as default.
Group A (Default):

Here are a few photo’s, oddly the red looks white in the photo’s, but in reality it was very red!
