Modder needed: Please Build me a light-Compensation and a few gifts.

I hope I am in the right category, I apologize if not.

I am changing directions in regards to getting my NI40 modded. The LED, SBT90.2 is awesome. For my use, it does not belong in a single cell light. The capacity of a single 26650 can not sustain max output for more than 10 minutes. Actually it is more like Seven or Eight minutes because of the feeble driver which constantly steps down from max output.

This is what I want. A mid sized light like the K40/TN31/TN32 and other brands that take 3 X 18650. Possibly a mid sized light with 4 X 18650.Much more run time and better shedding of heat.I bought a used TN42 that has an CFT90 in it. I do not want a big light again.

I do have a Thrunite TN31 and an Acebeam K40. Not sure if I want to use them… Regardless, whatever host is chosen, the SBT90.2 must be able to fit.

The Most important aspect for this build is that the driver can NOT step down. NO turbo timer.

This is part of the mod/operation. The SBT90.2 will be extracted from the NI40 and put into the host light that is yet to be determined. ABSOLUTELY need your suggestions.

Three modes is fine. Something like 3%/50%/100% that the FET 22mm driver has:

I do not know much about the electronics. So whoever is willing to do this can do what they think is best, as long as the driver does NOT step down or its completely eliminated.

The modder MUST be in USA and will get:

1. Keep the NI40 host

2. Gets compensated through paypal with an agreed amount of money

3. Gets 2 X Aspire 26650 4300mAh with Seven cycles for FREE.

If you are willing, reliable, responsive and have the time I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Baron Von Eissler

I’m absolutely not your guy for building you light for you, but the New-ish Convoy 4x18A may be a decent place to start for a host? 4x18640, and it has a nice single emitter reflector with a large flat bottom that could probably be easily be opened up to take an SBT-90. It’s an E-switch light, unsure if the firmware could easily be reflashed or if it requires a new driver though. Keeping the USB charging may also be difficult.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I went back to my original plan. A fine member offered to do the work. The NI40 is on the way to him.

Thanks

Do you know what driver was suggested for driving the SBT90.2 on a single 26650? Can’t decide between fet/linear/buck setup if I can put two 26350 in series in, but would prefer to stay 1s 26650. Thanks
