I have a 2D cell that I would like to modify/upgrade. I read & watched some YOUTUBE videos about the 5*Cree R2 Drop-in. All this has been done in a 3C and 4D+ but never saw a 2D. It’s posible to get it done in a 2D with Li-ions or so. Just curious. I’ll appreciate you input. Sorry I double post (can’t delete the other)

It would certainly be possible to do this with a 2D and 2 Li-Ion. But the reason why you are probably seeing this more with a 3C is that 2 Li-Ion fit more naturally in a 3C.

I consider it one of the best bang for the buck mods in a D size mag. You will have to cut the tail spring down to make it shorter, use a battery adapter to fit 2 18650’s in there, solder some wires to the switch to the drop-in and file some of the lip off the drop-in but very doable mod.

Thanks for your input. I will get the the 5*Cree R2 then I will investigate/search about soldering the wires to the switch and the 18650 to D adapter.
