Seems that some new lights with really good potential came out while I was away, like the btu shocker, I’d like some ideas of new stuff that came about in the last year to tinker with.
tn31, either going to put a dedomed xml2 and current mod it, or leave the driver alone and put in an xpg2 (leaving my shiny new tn32 alone)
BTU shocker, quite interested in this one, saw a few threads on it, but wasn’t quite clear on which driver to replace with or how to mod the stock one.
Anything else out there that pushes the limits, I like to keep my lights at either the flood or throw end of the spectrum.
Just got settled in the new house and got my workshop back together, I need some projects to break it in !
The comment about the new house led me to this. Why not take a classic, like the old Boy Scout metal flashlight, (e.g.) and modify/modernize it?
Most of the old flashlights weren’t worth having, but the few really beautiful ones could still be beautiful and (finally) make beautiful light to match…
EDIT: The first one sold, but there are others. The prices are insane, IMNERHO, but there it is.
They might not have had this in mind, but a Cu body won’t spark if you bang it against your friend’s head in a methane-filled Pup Tent… I think that was Bog Standard (for BS, of course) back then, but I’m no historian.
