Modifying a Nanjg 110 boost driver for higher output

Hi Cereal_killer,

So, you were successful at upping the current of this Nanjg 110 Boost Driver to 1.5A…….

What is your tailcap current with 2 AA cells (NiMH I presume)?

With 4.2V input you get 700mA?
With 6V input you get 2A?

I been dreaming of an EDC 2*AA Light that can drive an LED at 1.5A for a while now.
Best I have seen was the Lamdalights 2C Mag which drove the XML at 3A off 2.4V input…5A plus at tailcap…(Not EDC friendly)

No, sorry for any confusion but in the quoted text I’m talking about a UV emitter, not a driver at all.

I just took a look at the datasheet and all parts have to withstand high current.
I am to lazy to look at the nanjg110 I have flying around to see the actual parts but on the picture it looks like if the diode is ss12 which isn’t made for 2A and so it won’t be good for 3A either.
Anyway if you add your r200 you should pot the driver or use some sort of heat sinking as it is likely that something’s will burn in the high current peak from two empty batteries at 1.8V.
I have done this in former times with another boost circuit, I pot modded it and thought all were fine until I used different voltages for testing…smoke….smell…dead circuit.

You say you have two so mod one test what burns first and change that part for a better one…
