I’ve just opened up my Trustfire R5-A3 torch and, after reading other posts about obtaining extra functions, I was wondering if I could get the same e.g. mid brightness and SOS.
So, from the photos below, does anyone recognise the board and do you know what might happen if I remove the solder bridge between the 9th and 10th leg of the chip?
Ha ha, success. Just a few minutes ago I returned from the garage and now I have a 5 function torch - High, Med, Low, Strobe and SOS.
All it took was some fine soldering iron work and scalpel scraping, mostly scalpel scraping, and it resulted in complete success.
I know on some of the AK-47 1.4 A drivers from banggood (no stars to change modes) you can solder some different processor legs to ground to get different modes, maybe a paperclip jumper to ground for this will help you figure them out…. Could be more surprises…
