MTG2 high CRI? Who is going to be the first to use one?

I almost bought a mixture of 9 (to avoid shipping and special handling charges) MGT2’s from Cutter last week. Thank goodness sanity prevailed.

A CPF thread showed that the 219 becomes quite inefficient as current increases beyond a certain level and gets progressively worse. The below CPF thread showed 285 lumens from one 219 at 1.1A. So only 2S 219’s would beat one high CRI MGT2 at 1.1A. Is that correct? i have to go. So I don’t have time to try to look it up right now. Does anyone know how much the efficiency of the MGT2 drops at say 3A?

I have the 3000K MT-G2 from Cutter. I have not done a thing with it yet and don't plan to in the near future. I used the 4000K in the EA8. Both were two step.

The best driver right now (only driver as far as I am concerned), for the MT-G2 is the h6flex from taskled. It is EXPENSIVE, but you get a very well made driver with a the ability to program "on the fly" and George's reputation of consistent quality. Up to 6600mA, so you can push the MT-G2 as far as you like.

It beats the pants off $20 multi-led Chinese drivers.

Ouch!

Between the cost of the emitter+PCB and that driver ($40), that’s more than most “budget” lights right there?

Old-Lumens: I’m not complaining… just saying…
