This Coleman Max with selectable red/blue/white output remains one of my top go-to lights. It seems to run forever on 3AAA’s. I use both the red and white fairly often…the red more so for hunting and also dog walking on neighborhood trails.
I’d like to find an equivalent 18650 powered light for brighter output and longer life. I tried putting an 18650 in there but it was too long. Is there any similar to it out there :davie: ?
Thanks, I might just consider building that as my first build! What size host do I need? Something like a cheap 501b?
Anybody know if I can charge a 18500 in the Rodee charger I linked above? If it is shorter than a 18650 (which that charger does charge) can I add some kind of conductive spacer? I thought I read about folks doing that in other threads although didn’t quite understand why they were doing it at the time.
Thanks, you just reminded me I have quite a bit of raw rod stock laying around and I can cut a piece to fit! Just curious…is there a shock hazard should this extension be touched while the charger is energized? I vividly recall having the snot knocked out of me while working on some aircraft DC circuitry (can’t recall the voltage now though… :Sp )
