Multi-LED rugged inspection lamps.

I’m done with using flashlights at work! I keep losing them, and they are simply not robust enough for use in the motor trade. I’m looking to go back to a good old rubber coated multi emitter inspection lamp:

Like so…

Anything I’m missing from our friends in China? Not up on the latest stuff really…

Be careful with a proprietary battery, a little damage and either a fireball or at least a nonfunctioning light.

I don’t know what you are talking about as far as robustness….I have beat the stuff out of my flashlights (olight s10-l2 and nitecore mt2a) in a machine shop, I even dropped the olight in a bucket of hot dirty hydraulic oil. No problems at all.

But if you are insistent on a rubber coating , make sure it is not urethane. Oil and gasoline (petrol?) attack urethane, and you’ll have a gooey, foul smelling mess.

there are many different lights in this style, do think that would work?

I use this Powerplus rechargeable worklight http://www.ukhs.tv/Automotive/Torches-Lighting/Powerplus-LED-Work-Light-and-Torch-POWLI422 (bought mine at Hubo in Belgium).
It is very bright and very robust, and the magnets are very strong.

Today i got this from DX http://www.dx.com/nl/p/zhishunjia-cob18-18-led-500lm-2-mode-neutral-white-outdoor-camping-lamp-w-compass-black-red-405553#.VfsKrjYVhhE to keep in my car as “emergency light”. It is not as bright as the Powerplus, but it is bright enough to replace a tyre in the dark.
And with 3 AA batteries it is no problem to keep it in the car untill i need it (i hope i never need it…).
