multiholics

As well as being a flashoholic, I’ve got two other addictions, digital cameras and two way radio!!!
I’ve got about ten cameras, and six radios.
Any other multiholics on BLF???

So far I have the flashlights under control <15 BUT

I have 8 GPS units some are hacked with MioPocket You can read about HERE It essentially turns a GPS into a tablet computer.

Cordless drills - about 12
Extention cords - I once bought about 20 14ga 50’ cords at Home Depot on clearence for $2.87 each (nothing to think about right?)

Old HP Laser printers, got them surplus, have a garage full of them.

The song “Summertime” (I have 1600 covers)

Movies ( last week I bought a 24 DVD, 100 Mystery movie set at WalMart for $17.96), just to add to my collection. Probably will never watch one.

CD’s

Hand tools, I probably have 25 different socket sets

Hard Drive storage, I have about 25 TB

other things I have WAY too may of
lawn chairs, garden hoses, glazed ceramic flower pots(just bought abought 60 or 70 of them at Ocean State Job Lot, cleaned out every store in the area. and other stuff.

I basically find that I load up on anything that I have been deprived of in the past.

and of course I have a “thing” about storage containers. It’s a necessity.

dchomak, you are difficult to beat!

I mainly am a fishingholic, having more rods than days to go fishing and many other parts used for it.

As I am a fishingholic, I also bought a Kayak to go fishing on a bay where I live, which needed lots of stuff such as a fish finder, gps etc etc, that normally is not used at all :8)

I also like hi-fi, where I have a few amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, digital room correction sets……

Other than that, I am starting with the e-cigs, where I am storing lots of stuff that I am testing bit by bit.

I am lucky I live in a flat, where there is not much more room, if a had a bigger house it would be a problem haha.

I try to stick to one -aholism at a time. My current weakness has become USB Flash Drives since they are so cheap lately. I’ve had a hard time passing up on those $18/32GB drives. I’ve been using those to back up several of the TV series I have to allow me to carry them for watching on my Android tablet.

So, when does your episode of Hoarders air? :p ;)

I'm a switchaholic... I switch from one gadget to the next (flashlights->knives-> Android devices) I rarely consume more than one "drug" at a time.

I was gonna say the same thing!!

Yeah, but I have GOOD stuff.

I will show this thread to my wife.
And then she will read it with astonishment and disbelief.
And hopefully kiss me and tell me that I was right all along - I’m not that bad after all

:)

Along those lines, my wife used to refer to my cycling 'hobby' as an addiction and it was a source of constant friction. I own 5 bicycles, which is perfectly reasonable to me as each one has a different use, but she insisted I have way too many and that I should admit I have a problem.... until I showed her these pictures from a fellow cyclist's man cave:

Lol. Perfect

Looking back on it now, even as a kid (50 years ago) I had 3 bikes,

a Columbia with dual metal side baskets and a 2 speed Bendix hub with “power brakes” It was heavy and I used for my paper route in the morning. It was back and white, and I kept it mint. I bought that bike in 1960 at a Western Auto, paid $52 for it. The owner let me make weekly payments on it, can you imagine that? A 10 year old trusted by a shop owner to make good on the bike. Maybe my parents were involved, but I don’t remember that. It was a super deluxe bike and that was a lot of money back then, but heck, it was a business expense.

For everyday use I had an Columbia Blue that was 26 inch, no fenders or anything else, single speed. It was a bike I didn’t care if it fell over or got a little rusty. Single speed

For racing and craziness I had a Columbia bike that had a 24 inch frame but I put a 26 inch set of pedals and 26 inch tires on it. the tires just cleared, but the frame being a little shorter handled better on turns. I had to be careful when turning as the pedals were so close to the ground that they could scrape. THAT was my favorite bike, and it was fast. Back then “English bikes”, those with the skinny tires, were for sissy’s. Real boys rode American bikes with the fat tires. The smaller 20” bikes with the tall handlebars had not yet come out. Single speed, but if I leaned forward to shift the weight to the front wheel, I could “burn rubber”. I thought that was really impressive.

I lived on my bike, If I even had to go across the street, I would hop on my bike.

@ BetweenRides- Five bikes is not a problem, but I do detect a minor error you made that is too late to rectify. You should have married a girl that enjoys cycling as much as you do. Preferably the same size as you. That way you can add bikes to the fleet as “gifts” for her. Win-win!

As for your friend, eleven bikes is not a problem either. Where he messed up is with that recumbent. I can forgive the lack of variety (too few MTBs and to many TTs), but that recumbent , well…. that steps over the line!

I’d take that dude off of my Christmas card list.

:santa:

You have no problem. You have good taste. Veeeeery nice!
